Llanelli RFC travel to Llandovery this Saturday

This weekend we take on our fellow regionalists Llandovery at Church Bank in the next round of Principality Premiership West Group action. The game has an early kick off time at 1.00pm, so if you're not travelling to Cardiff to catch the Australia game then why not catch the semi pro action before watching Wales at 5.15pm.

During this period when the Scarlets are in Anglo Welsh cup action a number of Premiership players are given the opportunity to play for the region. The side that will run out on Sunday afternoon at Parc-y-Scarlets is indeed full of Principality Premiership semi pros and Scarlet Academy boys who also turn out in the Premiership. So, as I've said a super opportunity for boys who regularly turn out for Llanelli, Llandovery and the Quins to step up a level.

As a result of the Anglo Welsh games we find ourselves giving opportunities to a number of young players from local clubs which is great for them and Llanelli but it puts pressure on those local clubs to field sides as squad sizes come under pressure.
So, the game against the Drovers will contain a lot of new faces (on both sides) who I'm sure will want to impress both coaching teams. After a couple of defeats the Llanelli team will be keen to get back to winning ways but realise that the hosts will provide a very stern test. They won the first fixture at the "Parc" back in September and secured a good win last week over Bridgend so will looking to maintain their group position by securing the points on offer. That said, the Llanelli skipper Chris Long and all the match 23 players will be looking to come away from Church Bank as victors themselves.

It should be another full on regional game and whilst we can't guarantee the "try fest" aka last week RGC game, I'm sure we will all be well entertained..
Look forward to seeing you on Saturday
