Ebbw Vale 43-15 Llanelli
The game was won by the hosts in the 3rd quarter. They scored 30 unanswered points to turn a deficit at the half into a clear winning position. On a cold but clear afternoon at Eugene Cross Park both sides tried hard to gain the upper hand but it was Llanelli who scored the only try when centre Ryan Davies was on hand to score near the posts. The conversion was added by outside Half Lewis Williams. Earlier both sides exchanged penalties and just before the half the Ebbw flyhalf Dorian Jones slotted another goal to reduce the arrears. Llanelli we're unlucky not to add a further try right on half time but solid defensive work by the home pack kept them out. at the half Llanelli led 10 - 6
That score line was to change directly from the restart, a couple of missed tackles by Llanelli saw wing threequarter Stefan Thomas cross in the corner. That seemed to open the floodgates. Llanelli we're penalised numerous times, particularly at the breakdown and paid a heavy price. Three penalties by Dorian Thomas, combined with a further two tries, both converted by the home side (Ronny Kynes & Cameron Reagan) effectively ended the contest. No.8 Jack Condy got a try back for the visitors, but a penalty try for the home side just before the end ensured they came away with a bonus point win.
