With both teams packed with local young talent they produced an entertaining encounter in the Fosters Challenge Cup last night at Parc Y Scarlets.
Llanelli playing with a strong wind, could possibly have been guilty of over playing in the their own half, however, it was enjoyable to watch as both sides went at each other with buckets of enthusiasm in the opening period.
It was the visitors who opened the scoring with a well worked converted try for Tom Powell & James Davies respectfully which was soon cancelled out with a home try from 18 year old full back Leon Randell and converted by Johnny Lewis.
The homesters needed points on the board if they were to get anything from the game and their enterprise and ball in hand approach was rewarded in a purple patch of rugby, three converted tries from Nathan Hart, Ed Curtis & Nathan Edwards. Outside half Johnny Lewis added the extras.
With the bonus point in the bag before half time, Llanelli went on to score a further two tries in a dominant second period from centre Nathan Edwards and No 8 Elliott Rees .Johnny Lewis converted the last try for a good home 'Fosters Cup" win.
