Llanelli ended the five-game winning streak of Bridgend Ravens in a hard-fought Principality Premiership game at the Bridgend Ford Brewery Field.
The sides were evenly matched but the Bridgend lineout stuttered and the home side conceded far too many turnovers.
They were boosted by a penalty after eight minutes by outside half Joe Scrivens but the lead was short lived as two minutes later, a switch to the blind side by outside half Ioan Hughes sent right winger Callum Evans over wide out for a try converted by full-back Dion Jones.
Llanelli struck again in the 36th minute when a clever midfield move released Jones who had a clear run in to the line for a try he also converted and Llanelli held the lead until half time.
The second half was a real battle played out in the middle third of the field.
Scrivens kicked a second penalty for the Ravens after 45 minutes but after that, defences were on top and few clear cut chances created.
In the 70th minutes after a series of scrum collapses, referee Mr Rhys Thomas yellow carded Llanelli prop Simon Gardiner and the Ravens took advantage a few minutes later.
Llanelli held out a series of close range drives but the ball was worked wide and quick passing worked an overlap for winger Ryan Griffiths who crossed in the corner. Scrivens converted from the touchline.
The Ravens sensed victory but Llanelli gained possession and wound down the clock for a deserved victory leaving the Ravens with the consolation of a losing bonus point.
