29 April 2017 - Rodney Parade, Newport

Match Preview

Last league game

It's our final Tier 2 Principality Premiership league game this weekend. We travel along the M4 to Gwent to take on Newport RFC at Rodney Parade for a 2.30pm kick off this coming Saturday afternoon. The boys know that it's a must win fixture to keep any hopes alive of a play off place.
We've strung some good results together recently and with an excellent performance last time out at the 'Parc' against Bargoed the team's confidence and belief has improved significantly. They know it will be a tough ask to go to the home of the Black & Ambers but in recent years we've done well there, so stating the obvious, play well, keep the discipline and we can keep our winning run going!
Of course, Newport will have nothing on their mind other than a strong finish to Tier 2. They have two games left to play and have won all 5 Games so far - two home games to come, their coaches and players will want to go into the end of season playoffs with a 100% record. Last week they secured their latest win in Tier 2 with a very hard fought encounter at Ystrad Mynach over Bargoed. They were under the cosh for large parts of that game but stood firm and will have taken a lot from that performance.
As I've said, our recent record at Rodney Parade is good but we need to step up one more time, we all know the talent is there, so com'on boys let's get the result we all want! I'm sure that we will get some cracking Premiership action with hopefully lots of tries being scored.
Look forward to seeing you in Newport on Saturday.
